I keep my house clean! Why do I have bugs?
Welcome Southwest Florida. In our subtropical climate insects thrive everywhere. When you go to the grocery store you bring home uninvited insects in products and paper bags. All insects need to survive in a clean home is water, harborage and food. Water can be found in kitchens and bathrooms as well as condensation on plumbing behind walls. Harborage can be found in any crack or crevice that the insects can get into. Food can be something as simple as grease that drips down the side of a stove between the counter, tooth paste in the sink or the glue that holds up your wallpaper. Cleanliness is certainly a big factor in controlling insects but doesn't make our homes insect proof.

How can I tell ants from termites?
Many people often confuse ants with termites. Here are a few things that will help you identify which one you have. Termites have a straight body with no waist, their antennae are straight and both wings are the same size. Ants have a pinched waist, bent antennae and their wings are two different sized. And, the ants rear wings are shorter than the front wings.

What can a Professional Operator do that I can't?
Professional operators are trained in amny areas. The first area is to identify the insect that is causing the problem There are some insects, when sprayed with pesticide's, actually cause the insects to stop feeding, split the colony and a few weeks later come back worse that ever. The second area of expertise is in selecting the right product for the job. Third area is knowing where to put the product to get the best results. While every homeowner can do their own pest control they may lack the knowledge to use these products in the most effective and safe way.
