Deep Root Injection Feeding

Deep Root Injection Feeding is an effective method of tree and plant maintenance that does not violate the ecology. Definite beneficial effects of deep root feeding by high pressure injection of plant nutrients have been observed in tree and ornamental plant installation and maintenance. The response outperformed the more conventional method of surface application of plant nutrients.

FMPC Suggested Citrus Spray Program

There is no simple rule one can follow which will always result in bright fruit and vigorous trees. However, ther is a rather simple spray schedule that can be followed which will control most pests and result in thrifty trees producing fruit of good quality, but not neccessarily always bright color. A schedule of this type usually requires four spray applications per year. A suggested spray program follows. One exception to the schedule is that any time new growth is evident, it should be checked for aphids and if present, an additional spray may be needed.

1. Post-Bloom Spray (mid to late April). This spray should be applied after the flower petals have fallen and before young fruits are 3/4 inch diameter. This usually occurs late March or earlyApril. Included in this spray are insecticides, mitacides and micro-nutrients.

2. Pre-Summer Spray (late May). Included in this spray are insecticides, mitacides and
micro-nutrients.

3. Summer Spray (mid July). Included in this spray are mitacides, fungicides, spray oils and micro-nutrients.
4. Fall Spray (mid October). Included in this spray are insecticides and mitacides.

While we cannot guarantee that you will never have insect problems, we feel that this program (as suggested by the University of Florida publication entitled Suggested Citrus Spray Program, #LEE-44) will be very beneficial to your trees. If you would like this service for your trees, call us to have a representative set up a program your you. Click here to get in touch with FMPC. | Back to Top of Page |
